That the structures are installed within and in close proximity to La Grande Halle – an exhibition venue wrought from a nineteenth-century foundry— is a fitting tribute to Prouvé’s training as an artisan metalworker.
Réunissant douze structures préfabriquées créées entre 1939 et 1969, cette exposition présente le plus grand nombre de systèmes de construction démontables de Prouvé jamais rassemblés en un même lieu, et vise à revisiter l’aspect fonctionnel de son architecture, une approche plus pertinente que jamais au vu de la crise du logement et des flux migratoires actuels.

With collaboration at its core, the programme has included research, production, exhibition/presentation and archives, reflecting the three areas of interest to the Foundation; the arts, human rights and the environment.
